Judged! (Greg)

July 31, 2012

You've felt it, you've done it, you've heard that God does it. Judging. Right, wrong, good, bad - is this really how it all works? Is there another way? And what happens when we don't judge? It's nice to be nice, but do you get anywhere that way? These are more than rhetorical questions, they are choices we make every day and it is about time to end the confusion.

It Is Good (Andy)

July 25, 2012

Starting in the very first book of the Bible we read about God creating all that fills the earth and noting that "it is good," yet somewhere along the way it became far too easy for us to notice the bad in our world, whether we'd use the adjective to modify news, people or even the vague term stuff. There's so much proof of God's beauty and creativity beyond all the evil and ugly things we too often notice, plus it's no fun to live life dwelling on bad news/people/stuff. It's time to refocus our attention on the world as God created it and remember thatit. is. good.

What Christians Look Like (Greg)

July 16, 2012

Last Sunday Terry talked about what Jesus looks like, this Sunday we'll talk about what we look like. Two sides of the same coin. There's an image out there that 'Christians' are supposed to look, talk, act, believe a certain way - and most of us yawn and say, "Not interested." But following Jesus matters, so here's a week to discover what is interesting, and why the "unity or diversity" choice was never God's ultimatum in the first place.

Undressing Jesus (Terry Esau)

July 12, 2012

In the last few years I've seen more Jesus' wandering around America than department store Santas.  While all the St. Nicks bear a strong resemblance to one another, many of the Jesus' show more disparity than similarity.  Not many sound like the guy in the gospels.  Not many show much courage or conviction.  Not many have figured out how to be against somethingwithout being against someone.  Not many of them seem to like us, let alonelove us.

NO AUDIO - Speed Of Life: Be Defeated (Greg)

July 2, 2012

This message was given at Minnehaha Falls Park. It was not recorded.

No one wants you to never win, but what if winning meant losing at something else? Here's the scoop: Really good work happens when we do our best, but mind blowing breakthroughs happen when we've been knocked on our butts and can't do anything - anything that we already know how to do, that is! This is a God-strategy to wake us up to our limitations so we will engage power and creativity we didn't even know existed. Ready for that?
